Genesis chapter 9
The rainbow will be in the cloud. I will look at it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”

Is life valuable to God? Why?
Does God break his promises?

In this chapter, we see a change. During Adam's life, the animals had not been afraid of man. Man was over the animals and the animals obeyed man freely. But because of man's sin, the animals have rebelled against him. They now dread him. Man still has dominion over the animals but now it is because of fear.
It's hard for me to remember sometimes that we are made in God's image. I have no problem knowing that I am a child of God, but my neighbor makes me really doubt that we all are God's children. How can someone who does the things he does really belong to God?
Noah had done a mighty work for God. The years he labored among a disbelieving people. He had faith that God was totally in control. God so loved Noah and his sons, He blessed them with "be fruitful and multiply".
But after all Noah and his sons had done, and all that God had done for them, Noah fell. Noah became drunk. Ham fell. Ham looked upon his father's nakedness.
We have all fallen short. We all need forgiveness.
Even with all that has happened and will happen in the future, God has made a covenant with man. He has promised to never destroy the earth with water.
If we look we can see God's goodness in the flood. God sent the flood the first time to remove the sin from the world. Now He has sent his Son, Jesus, the living water, to wash the sin from us. Me and you.
And our neighbor.
