"If anyone desires to do His will, he will know about the teaching, whether it is from God, or if I am speaking from myself."

                                                                   John 7:17

Let's get started on the right foot here. Notice it says "desires to do His will". Not my or your will but God's will.

A lot of confusion begins when we ask God to bless us as we seek to do our will. We will understand truth and hear God speak when we lay aside our will and begin to follow God's will.

Let's look at the first type of God's will. We'll call it God's revealed will. This is God's will that is clearly known to us all. You don't have to spend hours alone praying, fasting for God to show you His will. It is His practical will.Written for all. Often times we pray for God to show us His will and it is so clear.

When we refuse to see it and follow it, doctrines become confusing and prayers go unanswered.

 1Th 4:3

For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

 1Th 5:18

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

 1Pe 2:15

For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:

 Eph 5:25

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it;

Get a concordance and search the bible. The bible is written so you will know the will of God.

The second type of God's will is God's unique will.

When we listen to and obey God's revealed will, God's unique will, will start to find us.

This is God's will for us as individuals.

Before we go further, the unique will of God may not always be something you want to do. It may be something you don't see yourself capable of doing.But if you are faithful to follow God's will, God will strengthen you.
