Matthew 5:21-48
Isn't' it amazing how many but's are in our daily life?
Everyone has one. Some bigger than others.
Don't laugh. I suspect like me, you have pretty big buts too.
And it seems like I don't mind using mine.
Just a few hours ago I used mine.
I saw an old man, really old, parked along the side of the road with the hood of his car raised. I knew I should stop and give him a hand. My but said no.
"I would stop and help him, BUT, I would get home late.
My but got in the way.
When I got home I should have helped out a little, maybe spend some time with the kids, BUT, the couch felt so good.
Still another problem with my but.

Now Jesus, His but is different.
The law says"Do not murder." BUT Jesus says don't think ill of your neighbor.
The law says"Do not commit adultery." But Jesus says don't even look.
And the list goes on.

It's kind of like the "old folks" used to say. Stop it before it starts.
Isn't it time we stopped thinking of our own buts,
And let Jesus's but have more control over our life?
