No matter how bad things get or how much the world seems to be spinning out of control, God is the sovereign Lord of all things.
God will deliver his people out of every adversity and bring them safely into his eternal kingdom. Forever He will be their God and they will be His people.
We see a lot of symbols in Revelation. Some seem hard to understand. So, why so many symbols?
1. Symbols are not weakened by time, different languages, or different cultures.
2. Symbols arouse a certain emotion, Usually a strong emotion.
3. Most of the symbols are rooted in the old testament. They may seem a little strange to us reading the book today. We don't have the background in the book of Daniel, or Ezekial, or some of the other prophets that the first-century readers would have. When we go back and study these old testament writings, they make more sense.
4. The writer used symbols for protection. Roman soldiers would sometimes see these writings, but he wouldn't be able to understand them and punish the Jewish people that had them.
