Romans 12
We are called to be living sacrifices.
A sacrifice in Scripture is something which costs you. It could be money, time. But here, it is yourself. It is the offering up of the believer to God -- body, soul, and spirit -- a living sacrifice. This involves self-denial.
It involves good works -- to do good and to share what you have with others.
It involves hospitality -- having others in your home to share what you have.
It involves service to God by faith -- the use of your spiritual gifts.
It involves justice, mercy, and humility.
And these are not offered entirely for yourself. So that you will look good to God. It is us, as priests, offering ourselves up for others around us.
